Issues with publishing posts on Social Media Poster fall into two main categories:
1. Issues related to media content included in the post (i.e. image/video size).
In cases like this, there is usually a descriptive error message: “Cannot upload media. Please provide a smaller version of images or select another file.” or something similar prompting you to change the image/video you are trying to upload.
In general, we support uploading images up to 20 MB, but different social media platforms have different requirements and restrictions. For easier editing, Social Media Poster will resize your image in accordance with the requirements of the social network you choose automatically. You will see the alert only if the compressed image is still more than required.
Below you can find information on image and video requirements by different platforms, so you can adjust your image/video accordingly, if needed.

For Video posting:
- Max video size 100 MB
- Supported formats: mp4 and mov

2. General errors related to connection issues.
If you get a general error message, for example “Couldn’t publish this post due to an unknown error”, most likely there is a problem with the connection or permissions.
To resolve this issue, please try disconnecting your profile (remove the integration on your profile’s side too) and then connecting it again. Make sure that you are allowing all of the permissions we ask.
